Sorry for the bad photo quality we only had Douglas' cell phone (well actually our camera was in the car but we didn't know it at the time). It is official we are graduates and ready for child birth (I guess as much as you can be), and we even have a certificate to prove it. Childbirth class was definitely eye-opening especially all of the birth videos we watched. It has prompted some very unusual dreams like the one I had a few nights ago where I gave birth to a cute baby girl but I was only 8 months along so the doctors decided to put her back inside and let her grow for one more month. I have had several dreams and this baby always seems to be a girl but I did have one dream where the baby was an alien so I am not taking anything too seriously. I bought a pink crib bumper in case it is a girl and a red and blue train clock in case it is a boy. Everything else is pretty gender nuetral.
Some of the knowledge that I appreciated most from my childbirth class was:
1. Stay as home as long as possible. I always thought as soon as you felt a contraction you were supposed to rush to the hospital but I feel more comfortable at home so it is okay to stay there.
2. It is okay to ignore some people. For example my landlord told me the other day not to feed the baby too much because fat babies equal fat people. I have also noticed that some women have selective memories about labor.
3. "Let the contraction rush over you like a wave!" and "Dance with the contraction" My favorite quotes from the labor and relaxation unit. (I wish you could hear the tone of voice as I repeat these quotes)

That picture is great. Do you think that we could blow it up poster size and put it up in the church? (Douglas does will with poster size pictures of him in churches).
The empathy suit is the best thing I have ever seen in my life!
i'm glad douglas can't hear me laughing, i wish they had those sympathy suits when i was pregnant, could i borrow it for dad to try?
congratulations! i forgot everything i learned in my birthing classes when i felt the first contraction!
Funny how people think they are baby experts and can say whatever they want!! Babies are smart though and know when they are full so they stop eating. Sometimes I wonder where that goes when you grow up. You are looking totally cute preggers!!! Love the body suit on Douglas!
I love it. Mom thinks I need a suit to feel like I'm pregnant. Obviously, she has not looked at my stomach lately.
What I remember from our birthing classes was quickly forgotten once things started to happen. The nurses attending to Julie became her best friend and I'm afraid I was just along for the ride.
good luck with everything!!
and btw... that guy is funny, bc if fat babies equal fat people, daniel and i are in trouble! LOL actually i've come to see that its the opposite... lots of little chunkers turn out just fine :o) so feed that baby!
