Gum Surgery

So Douglas had to get a gum transplant. I felt so bad for him. He had to use this nasty mouth wash they gave him vicaden (which he never even took). He is feeling much better now. On a side not is has been snowing a lot here lately. Douglas and I were leaving the house and I was wearing my rain boots and they didn't mix well with our stairs. Our stairs have sort of a rubber covering on them so I feel down the bottom half of our stairs. Our land lady came outside and was just yelling at us!!! "You need to be careful, you need to walk with both feet, why didn't you turn the light on (which we had), you need to buy books so you can know how to act, you are caring for another person now" All this in a mean tone with a really thick Portuguese accent. I wanted to start crying but then she probably would have yelled at me for that too. I was in so much pain and here she is telling me I am a bad mother. I am getting really furious just thinking about it again. Especially the books comment. I am going to have to look up the chapter about walking down stairs while I am pregnant because for some reason I really thought the baby would enjoy sliding down half a flight of stairs. Yes I fell down on purpose for the baby's enjoyment.

Honestly she can be really sweet and she is really good to Douglas and I. She only raised our rent by $35 when we had to sing a new contract. She came upstairs yesterday and asked me to walk down the stairs slowly.

I fell off a bike when I was about six months pregnant with Corinne. I'm glad your landlady wasn't there to give me her lecture. You will be a wonderful mother!

Rough times! My family has a comeback to use when people are mean like that. Next time, tell her to "run and bunt at herself!" It doesn't make sense, but you'll feel better :o)

If I was there I would give her a piece of MY mind. No one should be mean to you, you're way too nice for that. I miss you, have I mentioned that lately.

That is such a sad story. She was probably worried a law suit was coming, so she pointed the finger at you. Its amazing how accident proned pregnant women become. Hope all is going well with you guys. Reed and Tom had that gum surgery too. They said it was so painful.
