Husband of the year Award goes to...Douglas!

So Douglas knew I was really excited about the Broncos vs. Patriots Monday night football game when I got a little teary eyed when I saw a commercial. I just got really excited. So he got to work and was going to surprise me and take me to the game, he started planning this months ago. Even though the Patriot's star is out this season tickets were still impossible to get a hold of. But luckily Douglas has a co-worker with 4 season tickets. Unfortunately the coworker splits them with his friend and his friend wanted all of the tickets to the game. So Douglas was back to square 0 and looking at stubhub. The best possible thing that Douglas could find was $90 tickets for standing room only. Figuring that the game was an hour from out house and didn't start til 9:30 he decided that it would be better to just watch from the comfort of our couch. But Douglas and I share a computer and he had left some tab opens that were internet searches for tickets. I got really excited and thought that maybe Douglas was planning on taking me to the game. When Douglas saw what he had done he asked me if I saw and let me know that he couldn't find tickets and that I shouldn't get my hopes up. I understood because I really didn't feel like standing room only tickets or paying a crazy crazy amount of money. The weeks went on and Douglas had totally convinced me that we were really not going to the game (which was true because at that point he really didn't think that we were going to the game.) The week before the game I spent the week telling my coworkers how excited I was about watching the game and telling them about how Douglas had left the tabs open and that he was really bad at surprises. He trys to do surprises but I always catch him...not because I am looking but because he usually just leaves stuff lying around. But Douglas got good news from his coworker just a week before the game that his friend was willing to give up two of the tickets!!!!!!

So this past Monday at around 2:00 I was sitting at work just wondering what I was going to do for the last hour of work. When Douglas walked into the gym wearing jeans and his Patriots sweatshirt. He said, "We are going to the game!!!!!" I was sooo confused and suprised and couln't believe it. I felt like a dork because both of my coworkers knew and I had no idea. Plus I had just spent the last week telling them about how Douglas is always trying to surprise me but he always seems to give it away.

So needless to say I was completely thrilled that we would be going to the game and not to mention we would have the option to sit.

Douglas had already packed the car with all of the necessary items we would need for a tail-gate and we headed down to Foxboro, MA.
