YOU WILL NOT REGRET GOING...

Estonians love to sing! They are so proud of their heritage and they should be they gained their independence by singing. A movie/documentary was made about their story and it is coming to Denver. I am jealous so I hope everyone goes and tells me how amazing it is. To see a trailer of the movie go to the following link: <http://www.singingrevolution.com/>

Russians banned the Estonians from singing their national songs. If they caught any one singing the songs or listening to them on the radio they were sent to Siberia. My companion and I taught a man who met his wife in Siberia; they were both sent to Siberia for singing the national songs. Also the Estonian flag was banned. You absolutely could not have or put up the flag. So instead of hanging up the flag they hung up blue, black and white separate strips thus essentially forming the flag.

Another cool thing that Estonians did was the Baltic countries made a human chain in celebration of freedom all the way from Estonia to Lithuania. How cool a human chain spanning three countries.

I love Estonia please go to the film in my behalf I wish I could be there :)

The Singing Revolution will be playing in Denver May 9th – 15th at Starz Filmcenter, 900 Auraria Parkway. For theater information and show times, visit:
