HONEYMOON

One day Douglas and I were feeling particularly adventurous so we rented a beater car and drove into the jungles of Mexico. This was probably our favorite day because we got to see a little more of the real Mexico. We bought coconuts from a barefoot man with a large machete. Douglas loved the coconut milk so he had to drink two! (It was not my favorite thing) I think he was more accustomed because it was something he drank on his mission.

So these are the amazing ruins of chichenitza. We had a good time because we were our own tour guides. We decided to buy a brochure and to learn as we walked around. It was a very lame brochure and the point was that they have no idea who or what happened at these ruins. So Douglas and I had fun making up stories about Nephi and his brothers and what they did here. Above is Douglas with the ancient Nephi locker room. That is where they prepared for their battles.

This ruin was called Coba. It was really cool. We had to go here because they wouldn't let us climb on the ruins at Chichenitza. Actually when you got to the top it was pretty scary to come down. Tons of liability but hey it is Mexico.

This is Douglas with the highlight of our trip...Tacos. We love tacos. Traditional, cheap, Mexican tacos. I only got sick once from all the tacos we ate. They were fresh and oh so delicious. Douglas and I are still trying to master the Mexican taco. Most of our souvenirs revolve around tacos. If anyone comes to Boston we will treat you to a taco fiesta!

Douglas relaxing in our hamaca. We had a great view from our balcony.

Green pool we never swam in but it was cool to look at from our balcony. We preferred to swim in the beach or not at all (little too cold for me).
